Avengers Doomsday: Here is how you make time for all the superheroes

After that wildly successful cast reveal from Marvel earlier this week, regarding Avengers: Doomsday (now in production), one of the big questions from fans makes a lot of sense.

How do you balance screen time with all of those stars?

And it makes sense. You’ve got the Avengers, Thunderbolts, The Fantastic Four, the OG X-Men, and Doctor Doom. That is a lot passing around the ball to make sure everyone is happy.

You also have to factor in cameos and surprises.

I’m not worried about it. And I don’t think viewers have to worry about it either.

Because, Marvel has already done this twice. Let’s go over the possible plan.

The movie will possibly be around three hours: Normally, we would roll our eyes at a movie with a three hour run time, but the Marvel films tend to fly by because there is so much happening. They still have to fill the time, and will have a lot of space to do so.

Many don’t need intros or heavy involvement: We’ve been watching Thor and Loki for 15 years now. Give us the reunion and move on. Sam Wilson has been around for over a decade as well. A lot of these heroes just need a cool opening shot and we can get back into the story. We know the OG X-Men and that they’re not a long haul solution. The Thunderbolts and Fantastic Four will still be fresh on the minds of viewers.

We still have another movie to play with: Too often we forget about the Infinity War and Endgame approach. Many of these heroes won’t need a first movie payoff. A lot of them will be able to wait for the second movie and a very likely big final battle.

This can work out nicely. It’s not going to be about screen time as much as it will be about using these characters the right way.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
