The Residence: What we should change if we get season 2

The Residence is now on Netflix, and while I wasn’t crazy about the series, I can understand what some fans see in Cordelia Cupp, and wanting to get more of this kind of murder mystery storytelling.

While I believe it would have made for a better movie, another full season is likely given Netflix understands that more content equals more streaming minutes and less subscriber churn.

Knowing that, this is what I would change for The Residence season 2:

It’s cold out there! Get a new space heater from Amazon HERE!

Ditch the birds: By far the dumbest part of the story is Cordelia’s fascination with the birds. Except for that one cool shot of the nemesis bird closing out the penultimate episode, it does nothing for the story.

Let’s go to a new city: We spent this season in Washington D.C, I would like the next story to be in New York City, Los Angeles, or even overseas.

More Cordelia family stuff: I’ll be real with you guys. If it wasn’t for the socks story and the time she spent with her nephew, I wouldn’t have been able to care less about Cordelia. There is a delicate human balance with this character that can’t be ignored.

More of the last 30 minutes: While I’m mostly critical of the series, I can tell you that the last 30 minutes, where Cordelia is explaining the reveal, Uzo Aduba is absolutely cooking. I would have like to have seen this at least three times per eight hours instead of just once.

Let’s see what happens. What would you like to see if we get a season 2 of The Residence. Let me know in the comments.
