Green Bay is learning, intentionally or not, we’re all supporting the 2025 NFL Draft

As we kick off NFL Draft week in Green Bay, there is a mix of both nervous anticipation, and event fatigue kicking in as we move closer towards the biggest event in the community’s history.

Basically, it’s exciting, but we’re also ready for it to be over.

Unlike, my hometown of Orlando, where there is an army of (underpaid and poorly treated) tourism workers, along with an existing infrastructure for hosting big events, Green Bay is going to pull this off without either of those things.

And it’s getting done by drafting it’s community into the NFL Draft work force.

The truth is that we’re all going to be supporting the NFL Draft in some fashion. If you’re a food service worker, you’ll be serving some of the quarter million visitors expected. If you’re in retail, you’ll be selling to draft visitors. If you work for the city then you’ve already been working on this event for months.

Many of us are taking on temporary second jobs. This might be working at an event or just a charity parking operation.

But I’ve asked everyone what they think about the draft, they’re tired of the build-up. Let’s get it done, already. Let’s get it done right. And let’s make sure everyone has a safe and fun time.

And then, let’s kindly pack it all up so we can look to the horizon for the next big opportunity.

The NFL Draft is here, and Green Bay is ready.
