The Righteous Gemstones: Keep an eye on the Alligators and Yellow Handkerchiefs
After episode 7 of season 4 of the Righteous Gemstones, I’ve got my mind on mainly two things, with only two episodes left in this hilarious series.
Cobb Millsap and the Alligators: Cobb has been doubling down on his hate of Eli and Lori, and dared them both to do something during this last show. You’ve got to wonder if he’s going to end up a victim of his own creatures with his reckless behavior around those alligators. A lot of foreshadowing there.
The next one I’m actually worried a little bit about.

Vance Simpkins and the Yellow Handkerchief: Simpkins has found himself as something of the “big bad” of the series, by playing the antagonist on more than one season. Now that he’s lost the Top Christ Following Man Of The Year to Kelvin, he’s got nothing to lose. You’ll remember The Cape and Pistol teased a rule that if a member dropped a yellow handkerchief at the feet of another member, that there would be a duel. It would be something of a surprise if Simpkins didn’t challenge Jesse. This could lead to a finale where someone gets shot and maybe killed. And it might not be Jesse. It might be Eli. Or Kelvin. Or even Baby Billy. We don’t know.
The Righteous Gemstones can be forgiving though. You’ll recall last season when Steve Zahn’s character lost a foot, but ultimately survived the season and got a happy ending with the rest of the Gemstone Family.
With only two episodes left, nothing if off of the table.
