Entourage 20th Anniversary Rewatch: S1E2 “The Review”
We’re continuing our rewatch of Entourage on it’s 20 year anniversary.
Let’s talk about the second show of the series “The Review”
What Happened: We catch up with the guys at breakfast where “Head On”, Vince’s latest movie with Jessica Alba, is getting bad reviews. They head to see Ari at his office where they pass Justine Chapin, who Vince immediately wants to hook up with. After lying to Vince, Ari tells him that the review does matter and to move on from it. The guys then go to buy a Rolls-Royce Phantom for about $320,000 and immediately hear about it from Vince’s business manager after they passed on the four million dollar “Matterhorn” deal. At lunch they meet Jessica Alba, who invites them to a party with Justine Chapin. Alba later introduces the two at her party.
Trivia and Tie-Ins:
Leighton Meester in pre “Gossip Girl” form playing the Britney Spears knockoff Justine Chapin is a fun turn.
A Rolls-Royce for 320K in 2025 would be a steal.
We get “99 Problems” by Jay Z after the guys buy the Rolls. Still a banger to this day.
We get Jessica Alba as herself here. This would have been after “Dark Angel” and “Honey” but around the time of “Into The Blue” with the late great Paul Walker.
Yeah, that’s “Beautiful” by Snoop Dogg at the party. Had that on my first generation IPod.
Dave Faustino was way past his Bud Bundy days here. But still a fun cameo.
Vince is reading a magazine by the pool with an ad for a Van Helsing video game. Van Helsing starred Hugh Jackman who Ari invoked earlier.
Quotes:
(About Justine Chapin)
Drama: “Teen Beat don’t lie, Eric”
Vince: “No way. Virgins are too much responsibility.”
(Buying $250 wine for the party)
Vince: “It’s for Jessica Alba, E. You can’t buy her Boone’s Farm.”
(To Justine)
“I don’t want to be anyone’s first. And I don’t want to be anyone’s last.”
(To wrap the night)
“We’re at a party with some of the hottest girls in the world, and we’re starting at a bunch of lights”.
