The Four Seasons: S1E1 Lake House Recap

Okay. I love this cast. Let’s do this. The Four Seasons on Netflix. The first episode, Lake House recap. LFG.

What happened? We meet Kate (Tina Fey) and Jack (Will Forte) (as they head out for vacation with their friends Claude and Danny at the home of Anne and Nick. They arrive at the lake house late but begin the party anyways with a low country boil. The next morning starts out slow before Nick tells Jack and Danny that he’s leaving Anne after 25 years. After talking it out, Nick decides to wait a bit before acting. While shopping with Anne, Claude tells Kate that Danny is having heart problems and is having surgery next week. Later in the evening, Anne and Nick keep slipping away from each other after a spat on their boat, Danny lies to Claude about an appointment, and Jack tells Kate that their hosts are going to leave each other. The next morning when everyone wakes up, Anne reveals to everyone while Nick is getting breakfast that she’s planning a vow renewal episodes before the credits start to pop.

Quotes:

Kate to Jack: “I love you so much but we’re not lucky, we’re dedicated. Romantic love fades and then you build something deeper.”

Claude: “I cannot drive an automatic.”

Nick: I wish we were like roommates. Roommates hang out. There’s p**n with roommates. We’re like co workers at a nuclear facility. We sit in the same room all night monitoring screens.”

Anne: If you want to take a trip to Poland just look at my face.

Tie-ins and Trivia:

The last time I saw Fey and Carrell together was Date Night, which should have been a bigger movie than it was given they were on the “The Office” and “30 Rock” mountaintops.

During the show Nick is called the “King of the Hedgefund.”. Carrell starred in The Big Short, about the housing crash where he played another financial prodigy.

Kerri Kenney is almost unrecognizable from her Reno 911 Trudy character.

What did you think of the episode? Let me know in the comments.
