Lawmakers Denying Green Bay Cops Draft Reimbursement Is Ungrateful Absurdity
You’re welcome for nothing Wisconsin state legislature.
Nevermind the fact that you denied Green Bay area law enforcement reimbursement for keeping this community safe during the NFL Draft with the entire world watching (story HERE). You would all rather play political games than take care of the men and women who have dedicated their lives to community safety.
The taxpayers will go ahead and pick up the bill. You know? The same residents who had to make sacrifices to put on a party for the rest of the NFL, and delivered an “A” grade for Wisconsin.
And don’t worry about the fact that the economic impact spilled over to other parts of the state. These visitors not only flew into the area from all over the world, they drove through your districts from all over the country, spending money in your restaurants and resting heads in beds in your communities who will see gains in lodging and hospitality.
You must really not like us. And you must not really appreciate law and order. Because you turned down our aid for court system support as well (story HERE).
Now, I’ve spent a career in politics. I’ve had my heart broken plenty of times by bad committee decisions and budget vetoes, but what are our officers suppose to think when they realize you don’t think they should be compensated for their extra work?
Thank goodness the event was a safe gathering. The only way this could be more insulting is if you denied us when a danger was actually present.
To our men and women in law enforcement from Green Bay, Brown County, and Ashwaubenon. I’m sorry. You deserve better and so much more.
