Ironheart: S1E3 “We In Danger, Girl” Review
A lot of people don’t remember the origin of the “We in danger, girl.” line. Whoopi Goldberg told it to Demi Moore in the 1990 supernatural suspense romance “Ghost”.
And we got to see a character named Slug massacre it here.
The truth is that episode three was the best of what we’ve gotten so far. That’s not high praise but what Ironheart had to do was prove it could carry an action scene, and make Dominique Thorne believable outside of the suit. And with the greenhouse sequence, that was minimally accomplished.
Positives:
The greenhouse set was cool: It was a new but not completely strange concept, and the fact that the greenhouse was really a trap for this incredibly dislikable group of Hood henchman was unintentionally satisfying. We’re not suppose to root for the self contradicting and condescending environmentalist but we sure were.
Riri the Spy and Natalie in the suit: That detection meter gave me OG Mission Impossible vibes. “Toast”. But Riri cutting lasers and sneaking around was pretty neat. Natalie continues to be the best part of the show and her piloting the armor is also another cool dynamic.
Ezekiel Stane: Nice twist making “Joe” Obidiah Stane’s kid. That Jeff Bridges character was the very first MCU villain. And while Obi is in a plastic bag in his son’s kitchen, I am a little suspicious of Zeke still as he gets more powerful.
Negatives:
John, the only tolerable villain is dead: We’re left with Parker and his dreadfully annoying entourage of Slug, Clown, and the Blood Siblings (still a stupid name). At this point, I would almost have Riri vs Parker one on one. Disney burning up a budget on bad casting with what was already a big risk
