WWE: It’s Wrong To Ask $29 For PLEs After ESPN Deal
ESPN and the WWE announced a mega deal on Wednesday morning that will see all Premium Live Events (or Pay Per Views) move to the World Wide Leader in sports next year.
A subscription to the overhauled ESPN streamer will be $29.99 (story HERE).
Right now, if you’re a Peacock subscriber you already get the PLEs for $8 a month.
This price hikes is an injustice to the consumers of both organizations and the quality isn’t there to substantiate such an increase.
Longtime fans of WWE who are brainwashed into defending the company at every turn, will cite the days before streaming where Pay Per Views would run you about $50.
You must remember that this was a time where we only had the “Big Four” shows, and during an era that is widely regarded as the best the sport has ever seen with Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, The Undertaker, and many others building a story worthy of that high a price tag.
Now they want to run up the price on us again so we can watch Logan Paul. That’s wrong.
So far, you’ve read the important problems with the WWE and ESPN deal. Let’s talk about a solution.
ESPN should offer an $7 single Premium Live Event price tag that would allow fans the opportunity to watch the show without spending over 3 times what they’re spending now.
Otherwise, we’ll just watch the show on social media, which is basically what every non Peacock subscriber is doing now. We’re getting footage moments after it happens.
It’s better than paying $29 dollars for a five match card with reality TV stars and storylines no one is asking for.
[…] This is a relief after the devastating news that WWE would be moving their premium live events from Peacock to ESPN’s streaming service. The subscription difference between the two is about $20. A hike of almost three times what we’re currently paying (story HERE). […]
