Green Bay Community Rallies for K9 Police Officers
If you wanted to know who are the most popular law enforcement officers in the Greater Green Bay area, you needed to be at Joannes Stadium on Wednesday evening, where families from all over the community came together to raise money for their much need supplies.
Unleashed – An Event Supporting Green Bay & Ashwaubenon K9 Teams allowed families to meet the canine rock stars and their handlers, as they performed demonstrations and mingled with the crowd to take pictures.
The experience of the dogs working with their handlers ranged from 3 days to several years, and the demonstrations included taking down some bad guys, with one of the dogs jumping through the window of a compact car to subdue a suspect, which drew loud applause from fans.
In addition to donations, attendees were also able to buy raffle tickets, merchandise, and refreshments to help the cause. The supplies in demand included everything from collars, to in-vehicle carriers, to tuition for more education to advance their skills.
The two guests of honor were Roco and Pyro, who are in the later stages of their careers, and have committed their lives to public safety while building relationships with their handlers.
