One of the numbers jumping out of the box scores from the Los Angeles Chargers 27-21 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Brazil on Friday night came from Hollywood Brown, after Xavier Woods was injured.

Brown was targeted 16 times: During the game. This was obviously because Patrick Mahomes had to find another prime target. The results were mixed. Brown had 10 catches but didn’t find the end zone.

The next closest: JuJu Smith Schuster who had 5 targets.

We’ll have to wait on Worthy’s status but: Brown was finding ways to get open. If Worthy can return, then you had better believe Mahomes will try to use his big play ability to score points whenever possible.

With the Eagles coming to town: For a SuperBowl rematch, Mahomes will need some steady hands. CeeDee Lamb had some success against the bird with 7 catches for over 100 yards on 13 targets in a Cowboys loss, but those numbers could have been bigger if he didn’t drop a couple. And Dallas could have won that game.

Bottom line: Monitor Worthy’s status, and if no one more apparently effective is available, Brown will likely keep getting fed.
