Fantasy Football: Jake Tonges Could Be Kittle Insurance Policy
George Kittle became the second premiere NFL Fantasy Football tight end to leave the game with injury on opening weekend, when he appeared to injure his hamstring in the first half of the San Francisco 49ers 17-13 victory over the Seattle Seahawk on Sunday. Las Vegas tight end Brock Bowers was also injured in the Raiders win over the Patriots.
But Kittle owners may not have to look far for a replacement.
Enter Jake Tonges: Who is Kittle’s second back up, who came in and caught all three passes he was targeted on, including the winning touchdown.
Luke Farrell: Is listed ahead of Tonges on the depth chart and caught his only target for four yards.
The Niners are banged up: Brando Aiyuk didn’t play because of injury and Christian McCaffrey had an overwhelming workload despite his own injuries. If Kittle misses time, then the Niners could feature their TEs more.
Keep an eye on Kittle but…: But if Kittle misses time, or if you’re a Brock Bowers owner, then you need to monitor what Kyle Shanahan decides to do with Jake Tonges
At the Saints in a dome next week: against a sub par defense could make all of the Niners ball handlers interesting plays.
