Fantasy Football: With Fields, Garrett Wilson May Finally Get Top Receiver Attention

While the New York Jets fell to the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday afternoon 34-32, there are still a lot of reasons to be hopeful with Justin Fields injecting some much needed energy into the New York offense.

But this post is about Garrett Wilson possibly putting up serious numbers again.

Wilson’s line: 7 catches on 9 targets for 95 yards and a touchdown. Not huge but promising.

He was never an Aaron Rodgers guy: Rodgers taunted the Jets fans as he walked off the field and threw shade during the press conference. He never cared for Wilson. That’s why he got Davante Adams and Allen Lazard (who’s still there).

Its about the Ohio State connection: Wilson played with Justin Fields in college. And he was complimentary of his new play caller after the game. There is chemistry there.

He’s the Jets only real vertical threat: Fields could pop off at any time. And Breece Hall could make something happen out of the back field. But Wilson is once again the top receiver on the Jets.

Bottom Line: Wilson should continue to get a lot of targets next week against the Bills in an early season showdown that will have some high stakes if the division wants to slow down Buffalo.

What do you think? Do you have Garrett Wilson on your team? Let me know in the comments.
