Regular viewers of “Dancing With The Stars” understand that the show isn’t just about dancing alone. It’s about telling a story and building a relationship with the audience.

And goodness help you if you fall out of favor with that audience.

Such is the case with Hilaria Baldwin, who aside from just being married to Alec Baldwin is also trying to tell her story. And so far, it’s not working.

After this week’s double elimination show that saw Corey Feldman, and Baron Davis go home, while comedian Andy Richter won over hearts with kindness, leaves Baldwin as the next possible celebrity to be eliminated.

“Hilaria Haters” are a real thing. And while it’s hard to pinpoint a reason exactly why she’s getting all the static, the only two factors appear to be her previous dancing experience (which is nothing new to the show, Whitney Leavitt has years of it) and the above average likability of the rest of the field.

Social media is full these critics and they’re not just human.

And the problem for stars when they fall on the wrong side of the audience is that it often indeed spells the end. Ask Anna Delvey or Adrian Peterson how that happens.

Okay. So how do they fix it? Of course, dancing well always helps. But Hilaria has been just fine in both of her performances.

You could bring back Alec Baldwin again. But he would have to buy in. During the premiere he looked like he was busy with family and not interested at all.

The closest thing to a tested solution would be similar to what Elaine Hendrix is doing. There are a lot of viewers who haven’t seen her work, but she’s won them over with fun performances and a sweet personality.

TikTok night will be here before you know it. And Hilaria not only has to embrace the theme, but the platform in which many of her critics are making the most noise.
