Justin Herbert Was Really Rotten To The Media On Monday Night Football
You know, sometimes I wonder just how far away some professional athletes get from the reality that they’re living a dream that billions of other would dream of.
And this morning I’m wondering if Justin Herbert remembers that.
On at least two occasions on Monday Night Football, the Los Angeles Chargers quarterback was either dismissive or straight rude to members of ESPN.
Before the game, Herbert stared down and exchanged words with a camera man. This photojournalist wasn’t doing anything particularity intrusive. It’s the same pre game shot that we see every other quarterback in the league doing.
But Justin Herbert decided he was too good for that on Monday night.
And then a couple of hours later, Justin Herbert was straight rude to Laura Rutledge from ESPN. The anchor/reporter was simply trying to get some comments from Herbert. After all the Chargers beat the world champion Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night 22-19. And Rutledge, who is one of the easier going personalities on the network, also wasn’t doing anything out of the ordinary.
Justin Herbert owes both of them an apology. And he should remember where he is. The National Football League, where 99 percent of the people who pick up the sport never make it to.
There are people flipping burgers part time, and trying to make spring teams for even a chance to get in the same locker room as an NFL professional franchise.
And Justin Herbert can’t be bothered to answer a couple of questions.
I’ll be rooting against Herbert for the rest of the season. And if his behavior is indicative of what the Los Angeles Chargers are all about then you should too.
