Baltimore Ravens Botched Trade Did Irreparable Damage To Maxx Crosby
The Baltimore Ravens have dominated (or shared with Bam Adebayo) the sports new cycle over the past 24 hours with their botched Maxx Crosby trade. Reports say Crosby couldn’t pass a physical with Baltimore, nulling the trade that would have sent two first round picks to Las Vegas and ushered in the Fernando Mendoza era on the fast track.
However, the Ravens didn’t stop there. Less than 12 hours after the bombshell landed that the trade was off, Baltimore signed Trey Hendrickson away from the Cincinnati Bengals.
Where the question of integrity comes in, is the speculation that the Ravens were hustling Crosby, while simultaneously signing Hendrickson. They were having Crosby shake hands and get comfortable with his new team without being honest with themselves if they were really comfortable keeping him.
The optics also don’t help. They keep their picks. While sabotaging the other teams interested in Crosby who spent their capital elsewhere.
But we need to talk about how the Baltimore Ravens hurt Maxx Crosby.
What was once an undisputed great player, now regresses back to a team that didn’t plan on keeping him, while at the same time suffering the damages to his reputation over durability caused by the Baltimore Ravens.
All eyes are now going to be on Crosby after these toxic seeds were planted by the Baltimore Ravens. If he takes to long getting up after a tough hit, we’re all going to be involuntarily wondering if he’s okay.
As for the Ravens, they should’t get an easy pass away from this. The club deserves contempt from the NFL fandom. They deserve the social media scrutiny.
And they certainly deserve the extra questions during their media availability over where their heads are at, because they didn’t do enough here to preserve the trust of NFL fans outside of Baltimore.
