OVW Deserves Intense Scrutiny For Handling Of Referee Seizure
In one of the most infuriating scenes I’ve watched happen in 40 years of being a wrestling fan, a referee had a seizure in the middle of an OVW show this week.
And everyone kept acting like nothing happened.
After taking a bump, referee Dallas Edwards layed in the ring for a few moments before having a very apparent seizure.
The wrestlers kept wrestling. The commentary team kept calling the action. The cameras kept rolling.
One of the wrestlers even kicked him out of the way like a piece of garbage.
It took almost two minutes before the inept producers decided to end the match and explain to the audience what was taking place.
Thank God the referee appears to be okay.
But OVW deserves scrutiny from every channel of the industry. The municipality and the state needs to get involved. And everyone who cares about the welfare of these wrestlers should be asking questions.
Its wrestling. Injuries and accidents will happen. But it’s the decision making in this instance which makes it absolutely unacceptable.
Of course, OVW has taken the coward’s way out and is refusing to field any sort of questions over exactly what their line of thinking was. And that’s because we already know the answer. It was inexcusable.
And that’s unfortunate, because they hurt the entire wrestling industry last night. And they should be held accountable.
You can watch this despicable event take place below.
I just watched the referee having a seizure in OVW, and its fucking horrible. These idiots just wrestle around him, and then as he's stiff and shaking, one of the clowns just drags him out the way.
