Chipotle Charging $1.50 For A Side Of Cilantro Lime Sauce Is A Rip-Off

Chipotle remains one of the biggest rip-offs in fast food. And their latest “product” only works to solidify that.

While build-a-burrito joints are generally a bad consumer deal as is, its astonishing how many ways Chipotle finds to squeeze every penny out of their customers.

If only they worked so hard to squeeze more protein into their burritos.

The most recent exhibit of greed for Chipotle is their Cilantro Lime Sauce. Listen to the nonsense explanation for this sauce. Yes, this is an add on.

Featuring hand-chopped cilantro, lime, Mexican spices, sour cream and roasted jalapeƱos, the creamy sauce adds bright, herb-forward flavor with balanced citrus and a subtle kick. Like all Chipotle ingredients, it contains no artificial colors, flavors or preservatives.

Sounds great. But do you want to know how much it costs?

It costs $1.50. And depending on how stingy your underpaid burrito builder is, you could be paying $1.50 for as little as a teaspoon for the stuff.

Its another greedy cash grab from Chipotle. While some of their competitors will offer free chips, queso, or similar sauces to build up their existing menu, Chipotle continues to abuse our wallets.

The mom and pop corner restaurant is still typically the better deal and product when it comes to burritos and burrito bowls.

And as affordability continues to hamper the American consumer, it’s greedy products like this Cilantro Lime Sauce that continues to separate us.

It’s just another terrible chapter for Chipotle. A restaurant is already breaking hearts every day when their tired workers give you three pieces of chicken for an $11 entree.

Learn to make great burritos at home for much less. And support fair prices for products.
