Boy, the internet trolls have gotten bored during the holidays. And they want to start the New Year smearing someone who has just dedicated their lives to protecting them.

Such is the case right here in Green Bay, where a swearing in photo of a young recruit has gotten attention because some of the trolls believe they’ve stumbled on to some anti government conspiracy (story HERE).

Yes, my friends. Round up the camping supplies. The unraveling of our society begins right here in Green Bay with a tattoo.

The trolls don’t want to look at the fact that the recruit is a United States Marine, who served this country overseas.

The trolls don’t want to acknowledge the procedures in which recruits are vetted. Which includes an intense background exploration process.

And the trolls are always absent during the community building and educational events Green Bay Police put on each year.

They would rather just tear down our young men and women on social media. It’s just so easy to do behind a keyboard, instead of actually learning and becoming a part of the process.

I’m happy to see Green Bay Police stand up on this. Keep in mind, many of these same trolls were convinced that our officers were going to go door to door questioning immigrants, in what may have been the lie of the year in 2025.

I hope this Marine and every other young person who is deciding to protect our community have prosperous careers and make it home safe to their families every night.

And finally, I hope we can be a little more grateful to them while they do so.
