Fantasy Football: Myles Garrett Trade Makes Rams Defense Fun; Browns “D” Forgettable
We had a blockbuster trade this week that shook the foundation of the NFL, when the Cleveland Browns traded future Hall Of Famer Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams for Jarret Verse and a couple of draft picks. This makes the Rams a heavy Super Bowl favorite as we head into the summer stretch of the offseason.
But what does it mean for Fantasy Football?
The truth is not much. Its defense. But late in the draft the Rams should be a top 5 defense on your radar. Why?
The Rams Were Already Strong: They were on the bottom half of the top ten for points allowed. Already ahead of the Browns.
Now you add Myles Garrett sack points: Sacks earn points. Myles Garrett gets you sacks. You already know this.
Plus improvements in the secondary: The Rams got Trent McDuffie this spring which will only improve their secondary as well. They understand the Super Bowl runs through San Francisco and Seattle.
The Browns defense becomes a non factor: Jarret Verse should do some good things in Cleveland. But the Browns are in a group of AFC North of teams that want to send a message. Hold on tight.
Bottom Line: The Rams would be a fun pick-up late in your draft if you need a defense and want a role in the Myles Garrett deal.
What do you think? Do you plan on picking up the Rams Defense? Let me know.
