Dear Friends,

Thank you for taking the time to read this message. It gives me hope that you’re interested in helping me out during this crisis.

Some of you have reached out asking how you can help. This is the second time this has happened to me. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated. It’s important that any help I get can prevent this from ever happening again.

Here is how you can help:

Share my story and talk about the problem: I’m an Army veteran suffering from homelessness but I’m not alone. There are many others who don’t have a way out of this nightmare. Talk about veterans homelessness and share my struggles with your elected officials on the local, state, and federal levels. This will make sure we’re getting the services we need in what is a very overwhelmed system under duress.

Right now, I feel very lost in the process.

Find me vocational training: My problem is that my old trade (records management) isn’t helping me. A great solution would be retraining for a new career that would include stable housing. Honestly, working my way out would also be my first choice. If anyone knows an organization or school that could help me, I’d love to talk to them.

Support the blog: I have nothing. I can’t afford to turn away any help right now. If you’d like to support me through the blog, you can below. You can write me at torres.fjr@gmail.com with any concerns, and I will usually reach out to say thanks if you decide to help as well.

This is a really tough time. But it’s about surviving. Anything you could do would be a great help. Thanks.
