The Bear: Will Carmy ever be Chef Terry?
One of my favorite scenes from the second season of “The Bear” was Chef Terry, the big boss of Ever, the restaurant that was responsible for redeeming cousin Richie, and giving us the best episode of the stellar season in “Forks”.
It also didn’t hurt that Chef Terry was played by Academy Award winner Olivia Colman, who is one of the best actresses working today.
But Chef Terry had an impressive story. She had nothing and took a chance on her restaurant and turned it into the best in the world. Impressive and inspiring indeed.
Now, as we head towards season 3 of “The Bear”, and the full trailer shows us Carmy in chaos, we’re left wondering if he’ll ever (see what I did there?) be as good as Chef Terry.

Even though she is nothing but kind during her lone scene, you’ve got to wonder what kind of culture she fostered in having awesome associates like Garrett and Chef Jess buy in so deeply.
And can Carmy do the same thing?
Granted, Carmy’s road might be a little rockier. Because not only is his mind not at peace, but he’s got a crew that is partly still trying to find their identity and another dimension of his operation that is recovering from some trauma.
While I wouldn’t put it beyond “The Bear” showrunners to bring Terry back, it’s unlikely given how she was written to be elusive and mysterious. But I really wonder how she would approach the situation at the restaurant, and what kind of advice she would have for Carmy?
But more than likely, he’s on his own.
