MTG Mono Red Man: Chandra’s Outrage sends a fiery message to pesky opponent
Intro: When I’m playing with a group for the first time, I always announced that I’m a mono red player.
Why?
Because cards like Chandra’s Outrage. That’s why.
We love our Chandra but her imprint on the game hurts opponents. And Chandra’s Outrage in an unprovoked circumstance could potentially tick a player off. Let’s proceed.
What the card actually says:
Chandra’s Outrage deals 4 damage to target creature and 2 damage to that creature’s controller.

“Chandra never believed in using her inside voice.”
Analysis: Okay, so not only are you probably going to kill a creature, you’re also dealing 2 damage to the player. Many players will deal with the damage and move on. But more sensitive players may feel a little unfairly targeted.
Should that stop you? No. Especially if that opponent is making big moves to win the game. If you like an early burn, I like to say, “that’s a scary creature”. And if that creature is making you do something you don’t want to do, then everyone should be cool with it.
How it feels when you play it: You’ll be glad you have the card when a dangerous creature appears or tries to do harm to you. At the same time, be aware that this card goes a little further.
Conclusion: If you’re mono red, you’ve got to jam with Chandra and all of her spells. You should be fine, but be aware that Chandra’s Outrage sends a message that certain players might not jive with.
But we’re mono red. This is the way.
