Intro: On it’s face, Dual Shot doesn’t seem very useful. But like most of the cards in this wonderful game, the big key is timing, and if you can nail the timing of this cheap instant, Dual Shot is more valuable than you might think.
What the card actually says:
Dual Shot deals 1 damage to each of up to two creatures
There is an eagerness among the Quiver of Kessig to prove that they are equal of other cathar orders.
Analysis: Okay. So, you’re wondering what good is this card that only deals one damage to two creatures. It doesn’t seem like you could take down something very good with something that is so weak. But if you wait until turn three or four when there are a couple of small creatures on the battle field doing important things for your opponent, then you can set them back a step. And if there is a particular player building up their board in a hurry, then taking out two of their one toughness creatures with a single swoop will be a pretty important play. And you’re getting this early game pacing card for only one mana.
How it feels when you play it: It’s a cheap card. And the chance to take out two small creatures for such a cheap price isn’t a bad way to go. This card could be a little toxic if you’re killing two of the same player’s creatures. And make no mistake, we all know there are fragile creatures of other colors that do important things.
Conclusion: If you like cheap cards that do something early on, then Dual Shot is a solid way to go. It won’t win you the game, but it will buy you the time to get your strategy going.
