MTG Mono Red Man: Dissension In The Ranks is the chaos we crave

Intro: As Mono Red players, we love action and thrive in the chaos of it. While our aggressive ways provide us plenty of action while our more pedestrian colleagues embark on their boring wincon journeys, chaos allows us a potential path to victory by ruining their plans. This is where Dissension in the Ranks comes in.

What the card actually says:
Target blocking creature fights another target blocking creature

It came on as quickly as taking in a breath of air. Cathars who had fought shoulder to shoulder were at each others throats. They were not themselves. – Halmig, Order of Saint Traft

Analysis: Okay. I like this card for creature removal. Take a creature you don’t like, and when it blocks have it fight a bigger creature. And keep in mind, that these two creatures can belong to the same player. And that will really wreck their world when they will potentially lose an eldrazi or a big dragon just because they want to block. You can also use this for your own creatures to set off a desired effect.

How does it feel when you play it?: Chaos baby. People are used to us taking control of their creatures, but when they’re blocking another threat and we swoop in to force their creatures to fight, it’s a lot of fun. But be warned. While the other players in the pod will be happy, the target will usually pretty ticked.

Conclusion: Dissension in the Ranks is a fun card. If you like goading and venturing the non burn aspects of our existence, then give it a try for sure.
