In a move that was rather unexpected, Apple TV had decided to stream it’s service for free this weekend to open up 2025 (January 4th and 5th).

It’s an unexpected move because the tech giant tends to be the most unforgiving when it comes to churn (revolving door customers), and is on the pricier side when it comes to streamers.

But they’ve got some great shows. If you have the means, you’ll be happy watching these programs.

Here are three recommendations from me.

Wait. Where is Ted Lasso?: Ted Lasso is one of my favorite Apple TV shows and deserves all of it’s accolades. But there are three seasons, and ‘Ted’ is best enjoyed at your own pace. Binging it in two days won’t do it justice.

Shrinking: If you want an equally satisfying ‘Ted’ alternative , try Shrinking. This dramedy just closed it’s second season, and it’s just wonderful. We’re getting Harrison Ford doing some of the best work of his storied career.

Severance: A truly original piece of television. The mind altering work place conspiracy drama is teeing up it’s second season. Watch the first. It’s spectacular.

Drops Of God: This three language gem flew under the radar last year, but the story of two wine prodigies dualing over the fortune of a mysterious titan of the industry deserves your attention.

It’s time for a new TV! Buy one on Amazon right NOW!!!

Honorable mention: Hijack may be the best time based action show since 24 and Presumed Innocent, manages to be better than the early 90s legal mystery. Bad Monkey is Vince Vaughn at his best. All are getting second seasons.
