Doc: Amy was never the problem, its the awful people in her life

Two episodes into “Doc” on FOX and I’m more and more sure, that despite her arrogance, Amy Larsen wasn’t the problem in her old life, before the reality altering accident we witnessed in her premiere.

It was all of the selfish, lousy, and boring people in her orbit.

And now that Amy has found her heart again after losing the last eight years of her memory, she’s exploiting the fact that everyone, from her corrupt medical rival, to her own selfish daughter, may not have really deserved her in the first place.

Robots are obviously better than people. Have one vacuum your floors with this Roomba from Amazon. Get one HERE!

You know, sometimes its the people around us that shape who we become. Amy Larsen didn’t have a heart in her old life, because everyone else was too busy either being jealous of her, or being afraid of her and expecting her to impede her excellence to make them comfortable.

You know, “Doc” reminds me of Regarding Henry. The 1991 Harrison Ford drama, where he plays a hot shot lawyer who gets shot in the head and also loses his memory. When he tries to get his life back, he realizes that everyone around him was so terrible that he ultimately decides to leave and start over.

At this point, I think Amy should do the same. They don’t deserve her and two episodes into “Doc” my two favorite characters are..

1. Amy

2. Old Amy

“Doc” might be better off believing that restoring Amy’s memory sooner than later might be better. And having her repair her life with her excellence in tact, with a new appreciation for life may be the best way to go.

But if we’re being completely honest, they don’t didn’t deserve her before. And now that she’s found her heart and will eventually restore her expertise, they especially don’t.

And goodness. Let’s get Molly Gordon some help. She’s great but she can’t lug around a dozen other boring and mean characters all by herself.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
