Trust Green Bay law enforcement when it comes to immigration developments
Keeping in line with the wishes of many Wisconsinites, including those in our communities here in Northeast Wisconsin, the new administration in the White House, is moving aggressively on immigration reform to ensure that those who aren’t here legally, and are causing problems in our neighborhoods, aren’t allowed to keep operating that way.
Any kind of serious enforcement could involve combined efforts between federal and local agencies.
Regardless of how you feel about immigration policy, you should trust Green Bay law enforcement, and police officers in the surrounding areas.
How can I say this? Because the law enforcement leaders in the area are telling us this (story HERE).
It’s true. Never have I heard about law enforcement simply stopping people on the street. It’s not that kind of operation.
There is often this visual association with deportations that prompt this image of large military vehicles rolling down the street and dragging people out of their houses. That’s simply not how it’s done. It’s important to be realistic during this process.
And it’s a process that the people are asking for. I had the opportunity to talk to hundreds of Wisconsinites last year, and immigration was their number one federal concern.
We’re a community that is ready to remain vigilant. And its not just regarding immigration. It’s regarding the serious drug problems we have in our community that wrecks lives. It’s about maintaining a sense of security as we live our lives. And it’s about projecting strength as we prepare to host the NFL draft.
We need teamwork and we should trust our law enforcement officials to play an important and essential part of that team.
