Why the 2025 NFL Draft in Green Bay will be the most important draft ever

There is an excellent chance that when you read this, you’ll be watching the Super Bowl match up between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, in what should be a solid finale of a terrific football season.

But the next campaign has already started for the rest of the league, and the 2025 NFL Draft which will be hosted here in Green Bay, is set to be the most important draft ever.

Not the biggest. While we are a mighty community, surrounded by football history, our population isn’t New York or Los Angeles. But that’s why so many visit us every year anyway.

This is the most important draft. And I say that without hesitation. I’ll explain.

The NFL has never been bigger. We’re talking in terms of money, with contracts breaking records in every aspect of the game, and global reach, as the league ventures out to Ireland and Australia in addition to the other countries we’ve played in.

Still, it all comes down to winning Super Bowls. The evolution of football greatness.

And the draft remains the best tool in building champions. Both New York teams and the Chicago Bears will draft in the top ten, in hopes of bolstering two out of the league’s three biggest markets. Legacy teams like the Cowboys, Raiders, and Browns will all try to return to relevancy, and badly need to have a good draft.

And then there are the fans. The NFL off-season really isn’t an “off-season” anymore. They stay locked in all the way until the draft. There are season tickets to be sold. Travel arrangements to be booked. Merchandise to be purchased.

The draft here in the wonderful community of Green Bay is the beginning of the league’s most important era. In the smallest market, the ramifications of the draft will be on display for the rest of the world to see on a level that’s never been reached before.

Are you planning on coming to the draft? Let me know in the comments.
