NFL Draft 2025: Shadow of Aaron Rodgers could affect draft in Green Bay

Future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, will not be returning to the New York Jets next season, setting off a flurry of speculation over what he will do next season, with options ranging from joining another team in one last run for a championship, to possibly retirement.

And his decision, and the actions teams take, could have some big ramifications on the draft that will take place here in Green Bay, where he spent so many years and led the Packers to a Super Bowl Championship.

The Tennessee Titans currently hold the #1 pick. They need a quarterback. Now, this isn’t a big quarterback draft, meaning they could look for a veteran to serve as a bridge until a permanent solution is found. If they sign Rodgers, then they’ll trade that #1 pick in what would be a blockbuster decision.

You could also say the same for the owners of the #2 pick in the Cleveland Browns, and the #3 pick in the New York Giants. Now, granted the Browns aren’t the most appealing organization with their recent quarterback decisions, and it’s unlikely Rodgers would stay in the same building as the Jets, with the Giants, but you can’t rule out those destinations.

If Aaron Rodgers signs with those teams, then he’ll have an effect on the show we get here in Green Bay.

Of course, it can’t be understated that we’re hoping for drama. Drama means eyeballs and we want every eyeball on the planet watching us here in Northeast Wisconsin when the draft gets underway.

Go, Aaron, go.
