Graffiti crime is so stupid.

Sorry to start a post with such a basic observation but the act is almost beneath my time. But it does lead to my other point, which is far more important.

It’s also beneath the time of greater Green Bay law enforcement, who we pay to stop real criminals who are trying to harm people and destroy property.

Yet, here we are. With not one but two stories about graffiti in Green Bay proper and next door in DePere (stories HERE and HERE).

The act of vandalism is always wrong. Both of these stories as well, although with different inflections.

Regular graffiti vandalism like what we saw in DePere is usually done out of spite. Or by bored kids. Either way, it doesn’t make the cleaning job anymore pleasant.

The second case, which being politically motivated is more up my area of expertise, also isn’t effective. This act, which took place near the No Kings protest could have been committed by anyone. Either a basic idiot, who thinks this is better than knocking on doors or calling voters.

Or a frame job, which has also been done many times before and in 2025 is just so stupid when your side has almost a thousand people in the area.

But the point of the post, is that we need to continue being good observers and report these acts to law enforcement. We’re a small community. Somebody usually sees something.

While it’s never a good idea to confront the offender, getting the best description to law enforcement could help these dolts get caught. And I think that’s fine by everyone who wants a peaceful community where we can explore better mediums for communication than spray paint on a vehicle or small business.
