Fantasy Football: Justin Herbert Levels Up Against Chiefs; Looks Promising vs. Raiders

After an off-season where some analysts were turning bearish on Justin Herbert, the Los Angeles Chargers quarterback led his team to a 27-21 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Brazil on Friday night.

His line: 25 for 34, 318 yards, and 3 touchdowns.

His passes had both heat and touch: Justin Herbert didn’t just win. He outdueled Patrick Mahomes, finally defeating his nemesis. He looked perfectly at home in the pocket with some good protection and even scrambled for a first down to seal the game.

Justin might have to pass moving forward: Let’s be real. The Chargers running game didn’t exactly light up the board. Omarion Hampton only had 48 yards on 15 carries on Najee Harris was a non factor. The Charges may only find success on offense throwing the ball. That means points for Herbert owners.

Herbert normally smokes the Raiders: And they’ll play Las Vegas next week on the road. While another road game after Brazil isn’t ideal, at least they’ll be back in a dome. The level of difficulty could increase the next week against the Broncos if Denver meets expectations.

Bottom Line: Herbert had a great night, and he’s flirting with the top tier if the Chargers keep playing this kind of offense.
