WeCrashed flies off of performances from Anne Hathaway and Jared Leto

Granted, it shouldn’t be two hard to put together an intriguing drama off of the back of two Academy Award Winners, but WeCrashed does a pretty terrific job keeping us entertained, with the story of a multi billion dollar start up fueled by the nonsense of two it’s charismatic leaders.

We get Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway as Adam and Rebekah Neumann, two of the founders of WeWork, a co working space on steroids in metropolitan New York. They’re dreamers or “true believers” in what they’re doing which in reality is just faking it until you make it. They float every kind of payment you can imagine and “borrow from Peter to pay Paul” on a regular basis. While scammers like these eventually get found out pretty early, these two managed to make a fortune.

The show really does fly because of Leto and Hathaway. There is hardly a moment when one of them or both of them aren’t on screen. And the story moves along nicely, despite the corporate corruption field filling up pretty quickly on TV these days.

It’s not quite “Wolf of Wall Street” or “Succession” territory though. The story doesn’t seem all too deep, and within the three episodes that dropped on Apple TV for this review, we seem to already be running out of things to talk about.

But Leto and Hathaway are good for it though. We’re never really bored as long as they’re in the moment, and I’m already looking forward to see how this story is going to end.

Give it a look. Especially if you’re a fan of it’s superstar duo.s, but WeCrashed does a pretty terrific job keeping us entertained, with the story of a multi billion dollar start up fueled by the nonsense of two it’s charismatic leaders.
