True Lies: “Dude. You. And me. And this. We’re just not working well together”

For the second straight week in it’s young run, we saw improvement from “True Lies”, as the show continues to engage the dynamic between Steve Howey and Ginger Gonzaga’s Harry and Helen Tasker.

But also its other cast members as well.

We got some Luther and Maria backstory, as the very serviceable second pod revealed that they had been dating back in the day, during a flashback that introduced us to “The Engineer”, this week’s “big bad” that was trying to move a portable nuclear device.

Both their opening back and forth, and their concluding (albeit one sided) exchange of words were entertaining.

And even better, was that Harry and Helen got even cooler this week as a couple pretending to be billionaires. I lol’ed when Helen got their covers mixed up, and each sequence at the casino was a lot of fun as well.

Let’s talk about the closing car chase, which is the best I’ve seen so far in the new year. I winced when Maria and Luther took the hit from the delivery truck, and was entertained when Harry made the jump to take out the engineer. A great conclusion.

The biggest star of the show continues to be the post production team. The graphics and side by sides are just fun to look at.

Very little kids and no Mrs. Myers this week. That is fine. Nothing against the talent, just don’t shoehorn them into stories where they’re not needed.

Improvement. Improvement. Improvement. If this keeps up, they’re going to be alright.

I don’t have a dishwasher and can’t gamble $3 million at a casino, but if you’d like to help the blog, you can below. Thank you!
