The Bear: Here is Carmy’s “Non Negotiables” list

If you watched the full season 3 trailer of “The Bear” this week, you probably noticed a more chaotic, yet more assertive of Carmy, now that the restaurant is up and running.

The symbolic mission statement for the restaurant as Carmy chases a star from the foodie world, are non negotiables. Standards in excellence held by all of the top restaurants.

If you saw the trailer, you noticed it only flashed on the screen for a second. That’s okay. I got you covered. Let’s have a look at his list.

“Of the place”: I don’t know what that means.

“Less is more”: We’ve heard that before

“Vibrant collaboration”: Sounds very Carmy

“No ??? ingredients”: If you can read that leave me a comment

“Consolidations and speed(?): Not sure

“Confidence and competence(?): Not sure of that either

“In and out service”: Okay

“Pursuit of excellence: Okay

“Details matter: Roger that

I can’t read that blurb above focus.

So, yeah, its a little bit on the sloppy side but I wouldn’t expect Carmy to have good handwriting.

But these are the terms that are going to strain Carmy’s relationship with his staff. It sounds very much like the kind of philosophy we saw him suffering through with during his training.

On the other end, last season’s stellar “Forks” demonstrated what these kinds of standards could do if done correctly. They were #1 after just one year. It kind of makes you wonder how Carmy is going to sell these policies to the crew. In the trailer it looks like they have a long way to go.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.

Dear Friends: If you enjoyed this post, I’m happy. And as I struggle with the blog, it’s my hope to continue providing this kind of content to the world. Could you consider helping me out below? Even a little would go a long way. Thank you.
