Green Bay Cleaned Up Cinnabon Mess Ashwaubenon Ignored

Yesterday, Green Bay leaders held a press conference to solidify unity with the Somali community after the Cinnabon controversy that took place last weekend (story HERE).

The controversy that took place in Ashwaubenon. Which, they’ve been silent on, apart from a quote that looks like it was written by ChatGPT.

What is both concerning and frustrating is that Ashwaubenon manicured the grounds that allowed these weeds of division to grow. And now their leaders are reduced to bureaucratic mimes that only care about bullying homeless people (story HERE).

They should have been outfront at that press conference yesterday. Heck, it should have taken place on Holmgren instead of Jefferson.

They should have had their social media promoting unity in the hours following the incident, instead of me on TikTok trying to convince the world that there are still good people there.

They should have been more proactive against the crime taking place at the Bay Park Square Mall, which aside from skirmishes like this (that take place more often than you think), has a serious drug problem and rampant retail theft.

Nope. Instead it was Green Bay leaders that stepped up with a simple gesture to tell the world that we are still a very united community.

What is especially discouraging is that I don’t think Ashwaubenon cares about keeping the community together. All of their recent actions, in some areas and inaction in others, points to the contrary.

The sad truth is unity resolutions like the one we saw yesterday, prevents the riots of tomorrow, in this very fragile society we live in right now.

I wish Ashwaubenon leaders would learn this.
