The Best of TV from 2022: The Dropout, The White Lotus and more

Well, 2022 is in the books and it was a great year for television, with awesome programs spread out over the months.

Let’s not waste any time. Here is what I enjoyed watching the most in 2022.

The White Lotus season 2: You guys couldn’t get enough of Sicily, and neither could I. Our second season of the scandalous dramedy continued to pull no punches. Aubrey Plaza, Jennifer Coolidge, and F. Murray Abraham had us feeling everything.

The Dropout: Amanda Seyfried gave us our best performance of the year as Elizabeth Holmes, the disgraced CEO of Theranos. She in fact played two roles on the show. Holmes during her modest beginnings, and the egotistical product of her success that ultimately led to her downfall.

Fleishman is in Trouble: This show had so much heart. And even though I’ve watched her work for decades, Claire Danes had me feeling everything on this show as the troubled theater agent. Jesse Eisenberg put in the best work of his career, and Lizzy Caplan gave us powerful stuff and one of the best narrations of the modern era. I meant that.

House of the Dragon: We returned to Westeros this year and it was great to be back. House of the Dragon was a tough and cringey watch, but when the drama or action ramped up, we were all shouting at our TVs. Just like old times. lol.

Peacemaker: The John Cena action-comedy broke all of the rules, and has one of the best opening sequences we’ve ever seen. I couldn’t believe how much fun I was having watching this show at times. Arrest Ariana Grande immediately and start production on season 2.

Honorable mentions: Abbott Elementary, Barry, Atlanta, Wednesday, Cobra Kai, Pam and Tommy. All of them were a lot of fun.

See you in 2023!
