Warning. There are spoilers here regarding season 1 of Extraordinary.

Recently, I had the chance to complete the first season of Extraordinary on Hulu, and if you haven’t checked it out yet, you should. It’s a lot of fun. Click away now.

But chances are that you have watched the show. And you’re here for some answers. Specifically answers over whether we discover Jen’s power.

I believe we do.

Lets point towards the homestretch when Jen heads to the park with Luke. After discovering that she wants to be with Jizzlord, she turns down Luke and walks away. When then see Luke try to use his powers of flight to leave the park.

He then struggles to take off. Then some girls laugh at him and we move on.

What if Jen’s power is that she takes away other people’s power? A nullification effect of some sort?

We don’t see anyone else use a power around Jen for the rest of the episode.

You might be wondering why Jizzlord didn’t turn back into a cat, or why the others wouldn’t feel “off” around their friend. That’s a fair question.

It could be that Jen is gradually developing this effect. And it could grow as we move into next season.

It would be the perfect dramatic play for this excellent show. She could find herself throwing the world around in her into chaos as they all struggle to be normal. Just like her.

The exact opposite of being extraordinary. Just ordinary.

I’m looking forward to seeing more of this plucky show, which was just a good time. The next season can’t get here soon enough.
