Lopez vs. Lopez: “I respect you, Churro”

Goodness, I hated myself for laughing at that woozy pet medication joke.

That’s how Lopez vs. Lopez started for me this week, but that Mayan cheesy vet joke worked.

A lot of the jokes in that kitchen scene following Chance’s bad softball game did not. George appears to be going full Fred Sanford, and the delivery of some of the jokes are being telegraphed really poorly.

We also continued the trend of the most interesting scenes in Lopez vs. Lopez, not even having a Lopez in the shot with Chance firing his dad from T-Ball coaching duties.

“I want a trophy, dog!” got a laugh from me.

Sex toys on the stove did not, as we pivoted to Rosie and Mayan. Neither did “Snack Efron” as the guys worked their way in.

Next we met the newest acquisition for Chance’s Wolverines in Robbie, a big kid who normally plays football. Real fast, his tackling of Oscar was something I watched like five times. Entertainment.

The show did continue improving as we got more Churro with Rosie and Dr. Pocha at the vet office. Once again, I wasn’t proud of laughing at these vet jokes, but I did.

I guess what Im trying to say is, more vet office.

There was a plot here. The name of the episode was Lopez vs. Gaslighting and George and Mayan, would have to confront Rosie on how she would deflect blame at times. When they held their little game show, Rosie and George had to shoulder the blame for parenting failures.

Great burn as the credits finished. A list is a little much.

Lopez vs. Lopez is all over the place. There are laughs here. Sometimes it’s a funny single scene. Other times, like this week, they’re scattered everywhere.

We’ll see you next time!
