Disney ultimately made right call with Black Widow dual release in Florida

On Tuesday afternoon, Disney and Marvel announced that Black Widow, starring Scarlett Johansson as the beloved comic book super spy, will get a dual release on July 9th, releasing both in theaters and on Disney Plus Premiere Access (more on that later).

The film has been delayed over a year, and watching other big movies like Tenet and Wonder Woman 1984 take a gamble and lose, Disney looks to release the movie when all of Florida should have access to the COVID 19 vaccine.

Truth be told, Fourth Of July this year might be the first milestone on the calendar when people feel safe out and about again, especially in a movie theater.

And while Wandavision and The Falcon And The Winter Soldier have been able to find success on the small screen. Johansson, an original Avenger, deserves a big screen bow.

Now let’s talk about Disney Plus Premiere Access. When the mouse buckled with Mulan last year, and only gave us access to the movie at an additional cost on a streamer we already pay money for, that was wrong.

It’s a little more bearable this time around with the option to see the film in theaters. Which is an infinitely better bargain for couples and individuals.

Now we just have to wait.

With Regal reopening their theaters, it looks like we’ll also have Orlando area movie theaters firing on all cylinders. AMC is already open.

And it’s only right that a Marvel Avenger film be the one to really mark the occasion of the movie theater experience returning to Central Florida
