AEW Full Gear: Tonight, almost every single match was elite

No time for an intro. Too much greatness to admire on AEW Full Gear tonight.

Adam Hangman Page and Kenny Omega did exactly what we knew they were going to do. They set the night off on a racing pace with a sequence towards the end of their match that made me want to stand up and clap in my living room.

Young Bucks vs. FTR looked like wrestling ballet. They absolutely proved why they’re some of the best tag teams in the world. There were a couple of times during this contest when all four were doing something special and you wished we had a Dynamite double screen.

The attitude in the Hikaru Shida vs. Nyla Rose fight was what allowed it to rise above their first meeting. They kept me guessing until the end. When Shida got a little too confident towards the conclusion I was definitely hooked. And Vicky Guerrero and Aubrey Edwards also deserve credit here for there work in telling the story. Now, please give us a Dr. Britt Baker title push.

Sammy Guevara vs. Matt Hardy could have been a dud. Instead, we got a cinematic match that brought in some really special guest stars and some “fireworks” that really let things reach a nice boil. Great match.

Darby vs. Cody RHODES. MJF vs. Jericho, and Mox vs. Kingston were also winners. But to illustrate how strong this show was, I’m not going to spend too long on them here. We knew they were going to deliver.

While the Pay Per View ran late, it’s why we love having these on Saturdays. And AEW Full Gear was completely worth a little Sunday morning drag we’ll make up with a nap during football anyways.
