Not Dead Yet: “And a sprinkle of doobie”
Finally. Not Dead Yet was back with a new episode, after what felt likes months off. And we can be happy knowing that they returned with a winning episode that encourages everyone, to be the person they really are.
I’m going to start with Lexi because she’s my favorite character on the show. Watching her unleash her repressed trivia knowledge on Team PH Deez Nutz was satisfying. I actually wished that she had won the entire thing.
Marlena is one of my favorite obituary subjects. I’d put her third, behind the Jane the Motivational Speaker, and the puppeteer. I felt some strength when she asked Nell to redo her soap opera-centric article for something that was a little more real. ‘Dead’ has done a really great job with these ghosts.
Finally, let’s talk about Edward and his girlfriend, Charlotte (Molly McCook), who he was prepared to completely repress who he was, just so that he didn’t have to be alone anymore. He stuffed all of his toys in Nell’s room and was completely holding himself back for her.
What I thought was interesting was that there didn’t seem to be a middle ground. I think you if you really care for someone, you have to kind of learn to work with who the other person really is. Don’t you? Maybe they gave up to easily. Maybe they weren’t meant to be. I don’t know.
But I do know that we got some great “Point Break” talk. Johnny Utah and 100% pure adrenaline. We don’t talk about the 92 Keeanu Reeves and Patrick Swayze action flick enough.
Excellent return for the show. I’ll see you again soon.
