Here is the most watched movie on Netflix the Rock was talking about
On Friday, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson cut an epic wrestling promo (monologue for the uninitiated) hyping up Wrestlemania season which is in full swing.
During that promo he mentions being a pivotal part of the deal between Netflix and WWE that will bring WWE Raw to the streaming giant after it’s current run on USA eventually ends. And more specifically he mentions the reason you’re here.
“You know what they’re asking? ‘Hey Ari we’ll sign this $5 billion historical deal. Never before. But one question. Where is the People’s Champion? Where is the man? The Rock himself? One question. Where is the man that has the most watched film in the history of Netflix?”
The most watched film in the history of Netflix is Red Notice.
It has a stellar cast featuring Johnson, Ryan Reynolds, and Gal Gadot, in what is a pretty epic heist film full of twists and turns released in 2021. The critics didn’t like it. The viewers did. I’m in the middle. You should watch it and make up your own mind.
But for some further context, Johnson was dissing World Champion Seth Rollins for getting in his face during a recent Wrestlemania press conference where The Rock was expected to face his cousin, The WWE Champion Roman Reigns in what has been a high anticipated match for years. Those plans were derailed when Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble and exercised his right to challenge Reigns for the title instead.
If you’re not a wrestling fan, you’re completely lost. Sorry about that.
If you’re a WWE lifer like myself, you know everything exactly and I hope I answered you’re question.
Johnson and Gadot will likely also be in the next Fast and Furious movie as well. And we can’t rule out Reynolds, he exists in that universe as well.
