The Book of Boba Fett: “The Return” was wonderful but there are other problems (Spoilers)

*Warning: The following contains major spoilers regarding the latest episode of “The Book of Boba Fett”

“The Return of The Mandalorian” was first class television. Just like the first two seasons chronicling the adventures of Din Djarin and Grogu (Baby Yoda).

It was great to see Mando and to see him fighting with the Dark Saber. It got sentimental real quick everytime we heard Grogu’s name. And the action was just on another level.

But answer me this question. Why are we reverting back to old characters when the show we’re watching is only a month old? And what does it say when the best episode of “The Book of Boba Fett” didn’t even have Boba Fett in it?

This post isn’t a referendum on The Book of Boba Fett. I’ve enjoyed the program immensely. That’s what I was expecting to see when I turned on “The Book of Boba Fett” this week.

Not the premiere of “The Mandalorian” season 3.

We didn’t even have time to miss him. Where did he go? The men’s room?

I don’t want to complain. This was good TV. But we need to build everyone else because even Din’s story will eventually get tired. And once that magic is gone, it might not return.

Anyhow, I loved the episode.

The opening action sequence was amazing and rejoining the Mandolorian culture was immersive. I enjoyed the ship building with Pelli Motto and what looked like a baby AT-ST droid which should be in toy stores as soon as possible.

And we got the runway ready for Din to join up with Boba Fett again later this season. Director Bryce Dallas Howard crushed it again and it wasn’t even her best episode.

See you next week!
