ESPN: NBA Today crew can’t stop laughing after Ben Simmons air ball goes viral
The NBA Today crew was left shedding tears of laughter after a segment involving embattled Brooklyn Nets star, Ben Simmons, air balling a shot attempt at a recent public event, in footage that has since gone viral.
Simmons hasn’t played a game for the Nets after a high profile trade last season that jettisoned him from the Philadelphia 76ers, where he was under scrutiny for bad shooting during his tenure with the team.
Richard Jefferson started the laughs by quoting Wesley Snipes in “White Men Can’t Jump” by stating sometimes the “wind pushes the ball in either direction six to eight inches”.
“I snorted” analyst Chiney Ogwumike said amidst the laughter.
The group would eventually calm down and come to a consensus that Simmons would need some time to reacclimate after a year and a half without playing a meaningful game.
It’s needless to say that the entire league will be watching the Brooklyn Nets and Ben Simmons.
“The reason he’s in the spotlight is because he put himself there” analyst Kendrick Perkins added “Its ‘show me’ time”.
