A lot of wrestling fans are furious this weekend, after Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson returned to the WWE last night during an episode of Smackdown, which foreshadowed a much awaited showdown with his cousin, Roman Reigns, at Wrestlemania.
Fans weren’t happy that Cody Rhodes wasn’t getting another shot.
It doesn’t make a whole lot of sense.
I’ll give a list of reasons why.
Cody did try to kill WWE: It appears that a lot of people out there have amnesia. Cody Rhodes left WWE and built up it’s biggest rival in AEW, where there is still a war going on today. Make no mistake, if AEW was right for Cody then he would still be there. He’s not. And now we’re forgetting what he did.

Cody had his Wrestlemania match with Roman: We saw this match last year. It was fine. But why do so many fans want to see this again? Take the match with Rock, which has been building up since they were kids if you trust “Young Rock”, and Cody can take the belt from Roman after he breaks the record, which I’m guessing is company intent.

We’re not even sure what we’re getting yet: Everyone is fired up but the announcement hasn’t even been made yet. We’re supposed to be getting one this week, but who is to say that a change won’t be made? That could be the redeeming factor for angry fans. If they cry hard enough, there could be a change.
But we all need to take a step back and look at how great Wrestlemania is shaping up to be. We were much worse off a couple of years ago.
