Davey and Jonesie’s Locker: S1 E3 That wild “Scatman” ending

That was pretty trippy.

You know what I’m talking about. The final moments of the third episode of Davey and Jonesie’s Locker, where we went full 90s pop techno horror.

Yes. The reason why music was forbidden in this particular universe was because it turned adults into werewolves. So when “Scatman” by Scatman John was played over the PA and teachers decided to start eating the students, including some regular cast, it was a TV drop kick to the face that I wasn’t expecting. Creepy (but still ridiculously silly) and entertaining stuff.

A lot of other stuff happened here. Let’s not waste anytime.

Davey and Jonesie apparently have adventures in other worlds that aren’t televised (surfer world).

Lady B. Goode was a call out to Back to the Future, where Marty McFly sings Johnny B Goode at the big dance.

Those things that Cheryl aka DAD has been turning Schneiders into are Sea Cucumbers, a complicated GRANDMA acronym that I’m not going to go into here.

The biggest threat to our two heroines continue to be losing their friendship. We get a true Cheryl villain moment where she threatens to erase their memory of each other if they make the last case of her punishment in the juvenile department of MOM last too long.

And we also learn that detention being given out by Cheryl means Davey and Jonesie staying in the 10th grade for an unreal amount of reality.

If you’re an old guy like me, you’d probably volunteer for detention.

Fun episode. Man. That ending.
