For older homeless Vets, trade schools can save futures

When you’re an older struggling veteran, you need to be put in a position where you can begin earning as quickly as possible. As much as we love to hype up holistic services, the only thing that will get you off of the street is money.

The best way to do that is a trade.

Ideally, we all would have gone to college. But if you’re like me, you may have been overwhelmed by the work when you got there. I had taken college while in the service, but when I got back home to Orlando, the colleges I went to demanded that I take prep courses. I goofed those and this is where I’m at.

If I had to do it all over, I would have gone to trade school and started making decent money off of the bat. And I would have had something I could always lean on when I was looking for work.

Instead, I got stuck with politics and blogging. None of those are helping me as I wade through the Orlando housing crisis.

If you’re a struggling veteran and can get into a trade school with your GI Bill, I would suggest that. Follow your heart and do something that agrees with you.

And go out there and start earning. Or if you’ve got multiple passions like myself, keep going to school and build on it.

I cant tell you anything is better than nothing. And almost anything is better than blogging, where AI has taken all of my work.

Good luck, friends.
