While I gave up on Halo: The Series a couple of weeks ago on Paramount Plus, much better people than I have continued. And what at first seemed like an occasional gripe from a fan hoping to finally see a worthy adaptation of their favorite video game franchise, has now turned into an all out chorus of how bad and unfaithful this show has been to the mythology.

Bad comments can be found on almost every social media thread on the show. Complaints raging from how Kwan has taken over a show that was supposed to highlight Master Chief, and how little the show actually feels like Halo and not just another generic science fiction program.

Not only is the Kwan plotline unnecessary and bad, they also did Burn Gorman dirty with the weak writing and story arc. That man was born to play a complex, calculating, and cold villain. They could have had that here, and simply wasted his and our time.

All you needed to do was translate the lore onto the screen… you failed and now the rest of the networks will laugh as another IP opportunity is flushed away.

When I heard there was going to be a Halo TV show, I was very excited – super pumped. And then I found out what they did. The lore is completely shattered. The core store has changed. Foundational pieces of the story have been replaced with garbage.

Uhhhh who cares about Kwan? Nobody cares about Kwan, I have not once heard that Kwan is the best addition to this series, tbh she’s not. No one likes this character and we wish to not see her again
