Saturday Night Live: Some fans say Sabrina Carpenter was Lips Syncing too much
Sabrina Carpenter made her highly anticipated Saturday Night Live debut on the season finale last weekend, and her performance was well received by most (including myself). It was a light and enjoyable outing.
But some fans were quick to point out that they believed Carpenter was lip syncing too much.
So Sabrina Carpenter was totally lip syncing on SNL right?

the first song seemed so obvious! and SNL is notorious for not allowing any lip syncing (Ashlee was so awful for that).
but it’s not cool for @nbcsnl to let her do it

Why is Sabrina Carpenter lip syncing on @nbcsnl her voice was literally at full volume while holding the mic above her head. I don't even think she knew the words to the Song 😂 pic.twitter.com/Wo9agwOwxw

Hey @nbcsnl, what is this Sabrina Carpenter lip syncing nonsense?! Why isn’t there a no lip syncing policy already? This sucks.

Sabrina Carpenter on SNL seemed to be using the worst backing track, only sang 7 words live, or unashamedly lip syncee that whole first song. #SNL

Now, we have to point out, despite the Ashlee Simpson drama on the same show 20 years ago, a lot of stars still lip sync. And it’s not always a fully pre recorded effort, a lot of musicians use back up tracks when they have heavy choreography in their performances like Carpenter did.
What do you think? Did you watch the performances? Let me know in the comments.
